Labour department employees from around the country will jet out on a
two-week skills training programme in Cuba, the department said on
Wednesday.
Spokesperson Zolisa Sigabi said the study visit formed part of a
standing bilateral agreement between the two countries.
She said the employees would be exposed to the Cuban community
development and employment programmes, which they would learn from.
The programmes would include rehabilitation of prisoners and ex-convicts
and training the youth, women and people with disabilities.
They would also get to see how, among others, agriculture,
apprenticeship and internship programmes were conducted, she added.
The 10 employment services practitioners will be accompanied by 10
managers and the Mpumalanga provincial executive manager.
